Ronald D. Horne, D.D.S., P.A.
Dr. Horne is a native Texan, born and raised in Forth Worth. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Horne graduated from the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio and attended the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. He started his practice in Austin, working with Dr. Gerald Beiter, whose practice Dr. Horne assumed upon Dr. Beiter's retirement in 1993. Dr. Horne is in the same practice in central Austin, and enjoys working with his associates. Dr. Horne has cultivated a solid reputation with an emphasis on all phases of dental implant surgery. His special interest is implant surgery treatment planning and rigid surgical guidance of implant placement. He and his wife Debbie have three children. Dr. Horne owns thoroughbred horses and passionately plays competitive polo. He also enjoys travel, scuba diving and fishing.
Michael F. Shedlosky, D.M.D.
Dr. Michael F. Shedlosky was raised in Central Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College with a degree in Biology, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Entering the USAF as a Captain, he served five years as a general dentist, and completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland AFB, Texas.
Dr. Shedlosky served 23 years in the Air Force, retiring with the rank of Colonel. He joined the practice of Dr. Ronald Horne in 2002. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Shedlosky and his wife Libby have three children.
Mathew C. Gordon, M.D., D.D.S.
Dr. Gordon is a San Antonio, Texas native and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Biology. He completed his dental degree at the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio and began his specialty training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Dr. Gordon's training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Nebraska included a six-year curriculum that awarded him with a Doctor of Medicine degree, in addition to his certificate as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. His training also included a fellowship in Melbourne, Australia, and featured extensive training in orthognathic/reconstructive jaw surgery. Dr. Gordon has been in private practice in San Antonio since the completion of his training. He has been involved in Dr. Horne's practice on a part-time basis for over 10 years and is well known for his skills in the operating room. His personal interests include automobiles, racing motorcycles, traveling, scuba diving and snow skiing.
Matthew Largent, M.D., D.D.S.
Dr. Matthew Largent hails from the San Francisco Bay Area where he attended Bellarmine College Preparatory, an all-boys, Jesuit institution. He earned both his Bachelors of Science and Doctoral of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington in Seattle. Educational pursuits took Dr. Largent to Texas in 2003, where he pursued a certificate in oral & maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
As a dual degreed oral & maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Largent was conferred his Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas in 2006. He was attracted to the field of oral & maxillofacial surgery due to the scope of practice and the opportunity to make significant changes in the lives of patients with regards to pathology, function and esthetics. In his spare time, he enjoys distance running, college athletics, and music.
